Navforcen kicks off Navy recruitment in Central Visayas this week

Presently, the Philippine Navy (PN) is in need of 200 officers and 1500 enlisted personnel for the year 2012. This is a rare opportunity for Filipino youth, representing Central Visayas, to get a chance to serve the country with dignity and pride through naval service.

 

The Philippine Navy’s operational command here at the Visayas, the Naval Forces Central (NAVFORCEN), will launch the Visayan Mobile Recruitment for qualified applicants for officers and enlisted personnel from May 9 to May 12, 2012 aboard University of Cebu (Main Campus), Sanciangko St. cor Juan Luna St., Cebu City. Processing of requirements will start from May 1 to May 8, 2012 at Personnel Office, Naval Forces Central. This Mobile Recruitment will provide a great opportunity for the aspiring youth of making their application process more expedient and economical rather than filing their application in Manila.

 

Basic qualification requirements for both officership and enlistment are the following: must be a natural born Filipino; of good moral character; single and with no child to support; height of at least 5 feet; must not have any pending civil/criminal case; physically and mentally fit for training; and, must pass the AFP Aptitude Battery Test, IQ and Special Written Examinations.

 

The Navy is in need of applicants for officership who are 21-28 years old and graduates of  a 4-year or 5-year Baccalaureate Degree preferably, Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics and Communications Engineering, Computer Science, Accountancy, Marine Engineering, Maritime Transportation, Civil Engineering and Naval Architecture and must be between 21-28 years old. For enlistment, applicants should have finished at least 72 units college course or graduated a 2-year vocational and associate courses preferably; Electrical, Welding, Plumbing, Mechanics, Electronics and Communications, Aviation and Aircraft Maintenance and Heavy Equipment Operators, and aged between 18-23 years old.

 

Qualified applicants for officership will undergo the Naval Officers Candidate Course (NOCC). For enlisted personnel, they will undergo the Basic Seamanship Course (BSC). While undergoing training for NOCC and BSC, qualified applicants will receive the following pay and remunerations such as basic monthly pay of PhP 26, 567.00 for officers and PhP 15, 426.00 for candidate soldiers’, additional monthly allowance of 4,950 pesos; midyear and yearend cash gifts and bonuses; and an accrued 10 percent increase in the current monthly base pay compounded for every five years of active military service.

Applicants are also required to bring the following requirements: original and photocopy of Birth Certificate, Transcript of Records for NOCC Applicants and Form 137 for BSC applicants, certificate from any vocational schools, two 2×2 colored pictures, NBI Clearance and accomplished application form.
