Former AFP Spokesperson is new head of the Army’s 3rd Infantry Division

Camp Peralta, Jamindan, Capiz – Major General Jose Mabanta Jr, the former Armed Forces of the Philippines spokesperson, has been named the new commander the of the 3rd Infantry Division, replacing Maj General Emmanuel Baustista who assumed post as Commanding General of the Philippine Army last November 9, 2011.

                         MGen Mabanta is a graduate of prestigious Philippine Military Academy class of 1981. Prior to that, he took a year of Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City before he decided to join the PMA as cadet. He also a graduate of Master of Management Studies at the University of New South Whales, Australia.

Being a seasoned officer of the AFP, the people of Panay and Negros is assured that the new Commander of 3ID will continue the peace efforts of the former commander and to pursue further the promotion of peace to preserve the gains achieved for the past year.
